New Local Foodbank at St James the Deacon Church

Thanks to York Food Bank, Tesco, York council and individual donations we have been supporting families with food parcels since last summer. Over the months, the need from local households has become greater and therefore the PCC have made the decision to launch a food bank to aid the support we can give to local people in our community. If you are able to donate any items, your support would be most appreciated. Drop off at the church or get in touch with Fr. Luke or Nicola Cook – nicola.stjamesthedeacon@gmail.com

Drop-off times: Tuesday 9–11am; Wednesdays 9–11am; Thursday 9–11am. Items that we need are:

  • Cereal
  • Soup
  • Pasta
  • Rice
  • Tinned Tomatoes
  • Pasta sauce
  • Beans, lentils and pulses
  • Tinned meat
  • Tinned vegetables
  • Tea and coffee
  • Tinned fruit
  • Biscuits
  • UHT milk
  • Toiletries and hygiene products

Boxes for donations are available at the back of the church and at the entrance to the Church Hall.
