Nicola Cook is joining us from September 2023 as our new Multiply Lay Leader.
Multiply is funding the role for the next three years in order to establish a new worshipping community, aimed at encouraging individuals in their 20s, 30s and 40s to engage with the life of our church.
Nicola has attended St James the Deacon Church since she moved to Woodthorpe with her family in 2015. She is a qualified primary teacher and over the years with us, she has used her skills to support Young Deacons, our children’s events and the Tuesday Tots playgroup.
From September, Nicola will be introducing a faith element to our popular Tuesday Tots group and is looking to build our volunteer base to support new family worship sessions. We hope to introduce the new family worship by the end of the year, creating a space where faith and family come together. The new worship will be a family-orientated session aimed at all age of children, incorporating an interactive story alongside activities, crafts, time to reflect on the messages and opportunities for prayer. The day and time of the new worship is yet to be confirmed and details will be shared soon.
